Mikrovolnovaya obrabotka prirodnykh sorbentov v tekhnologii ochistki stochnykh vod [Microwave treatment of natural sorbents in wastewater purification]

نویسندگان

چکیده

Purpose: Modification of natural sorbents to improve their sorption properties. Design: Microwave treatment effect on the properties peat, reindeer moss, moss and pine sawdust. Research findings: Short-term microwave has no moisture oil absorption by peat moss. On contrary, sawdust are improved, especially wood waste, i. e., capacity increases 41 %. The provides 11.4 17 % increase in relation products dissolved water, respectively. best is observed for irradiation with 600 W microwaves one minute. Practical implication: Activated can be used purification wastewater containing petroleum products. Originality/value: Arctic materials modified studied first time.

Use of natural coagulants for industrial wastewater treatment

Industrial effluents are a menace to the environment and the fact that their characteristics vary from industry-to-industry only adds to the complex challenge they offer to the engineers and scientists. Resource-efficient and environment-friendly solutions to this hazard are a call of the hour. Coagulation, by synthetic chemicals, has been used as a cost-effective and efficient method for manag...

Phosphate removal by mineral-based sorbents used in filters for small-scale wastewater treatment.

The mineral-based sorbents Filtra P, Polonite, natural wollastonite and water-cooled blast furnace slag (WCBFS) were studied in terms of their PO(4) removal performance. Results from a long-term column experiment showed that both Filtra P and Polonite removed >95% of PO(4) from the applied synthetic solution, and that the used filter materials had accumulated several (1.9-19) g kg(-1)P. Phospho...
